Nevermore?

Concept Sketch for a public, outdoor, “living/listening statues” teen project

Because of Covid-19, what was to be a youth public engagement project has been re-envisioned as a temporary installation of free-standing structures with flat facades shaped like broken pottery shards. Each (of 10) will have an oval cutout where anyone can put their faces and then ask someone to photograph them with their smart phone for sending to the project’s Twitter account. It will point to the SOLUTIONS Section of this website. The images on the sculptures’ facades will represent coveted life-style situations we enjoy today but are at risk of permanent loss if we don’t stop global heating now. It’s critical we find imaginative, “public-facing” ways of “nudging” people to think about what they are doing. Future generations depend on us!
